Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting.
The Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland focused on MND care, research and raising awareness.
Following the release of the NICE Guidelines — a hugely significant document that sets out in detail what good care looks like for MND sufferers — The MND association set out to promote awareness through an animated piece.
Using the contents of the guidelines, Nephew was tasked with creating a motion infographic that could maximise the NICE Guidelines exposure and provide essential information to people living with MND, as well as their families and carers.
A Helping Hand
The MND Association had already put together and developed a script they wanted to implement and so, the task fell to Nephew to interpret this in a way that would be visually engaging, but not overpowering.
Simplicity became a core element of the styling and direction, while also maintaining a conscious sensitivity for the viewer due to the subject matter.
After the addition of a voiceover explainer, the animation was complete. The result was a branded, informational piece that covered all key aspects of the NICE guidelines. The full infographic can be watched below.
