Event video production: making your event last longer than the day

From conference wrap-ups to launch films: how we plan, shoot and edit event videos people actually want to watch.

The event ends. The video keeps working.

Event video production is the planning, filming and editing of video at and around a live event, from conference highlights and launch films to speaker interviews and short social edits. Nephew, a branding and design studio in Northampton, produces event videos that capture the energy of the day, can be turned around overnight when the news can’t wait, and keep working for months afterwards across social media, websites, press and the next year’s marketing.

Events take a huge amount of time, money and planning. Then, in a day or two, they’re over. The people who were there remember it. Everyone else never knew it happened. A good event video changes that. It turns a moment into content you can share, reuse and build on, and it shows the people who weren’t in the room exactly what they missed.

Why film your event?

  • Reach people who weren’t there. Most of your audience won’t make it to the event. A short film brings the event to them.
  • Support your press and media launch. A polished film, ready the morning after, gives journalists, partners and investors something to watch and share while the story is still news.
  • Get more from your investment. One day of filming can create a highlights film, social clips, speaker videos and testimonials for the year ahead.
  • Build momentum for next time. Nothing sells next year’s event like footage of this one.
  • Set the tone on the day. An opening film on the big screen gets an audience on side before the first speaker says a word.

The types of event video we make

Event highlights and wrap-up films

Short, energetic edits that capture the atmosphere, the people and the key moments. Perfect for social media, your website and the follow-up email to attendees.

Overnight edits for launches and announcements

When an event is the start of a media launch, timing is everything. We film on the day and edit overnight, so your film is ready to go out with the announcement the next morning.

Speaker, interview and testimonial clips

Live talks, panels and interviews with key speakers, customers and guests, edited into clips that keep the best ideas in circulation long after the event.

Opening and launch films

Films made to be shown at the event itself: to open a conference, launch a brand or set up a big announcement. These are scripted and planned well in advance, so they land at exactly the right moment.

Social cuts

Vertical and square edits made for Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok, so your event works in the feed as well as on the big screen.

hVIVO: opening hLAB, the world’s largest human challenge trial unit

hVIVO runs human challenge trials, helping to develop vaccines and medicines for respiratory and infectious diseases such as flu and RSV. When it opened hLAB, its new facilities in Canary Wharf, London, which hVIVO describes as the world’s largest human challenge trial unit, the opening event was the centrepiece of its media launch.

We captured the whole event, with live speakers presenting to a live audience, and conducted interviews with key people on the day. Then we edited overnight, so the finished film was ready for distribution the very next day, supporting the media launch while the story was fresh.

Everon at ITEC 2026

ITEC is the International Technology Enabled Care conference, run by TSA, the voice of technology enabled care in the UK. The 2026 event took place at the ICC in Birmingham on 16 and 17 March, bringing together more than 1,200 people from across the sector.

Everon, a European leader in digital care and assisted living technology, was there, and so were we. We captured Everon’s ITEC in a fast-paced wrap-up film: short enough for social, packed with the energy of the event and on-brand from the first frame to the last.

hVIVO: launching a revolution

This wasn’t our first event with hVIVO. Earlier, they asked us to help create a new internal culture and employer brand, called “the revolution”, which was unveiled to staff from around the world at an official launch event.

To kick off the event, we produced an intro film explaining what the revolution is, how it runs through the organisation and how it would be adopted. We scripted, storyboarded, shot and edited the whole production, casting hVIVO’s own staff award winners as the stars. Real people, not actors, made the message land.

How we produce an event video

  1. Plan. We start with what the video needs to do, who it’s for and when it needs to go out. Then we agree the running order, key moments, people to interview and a shot list, so nothing important is missed on the day.
  2. Start with the music. Music sets the mood of every film we make, so we choose it early and shoot with it in mind. (We’ve written more about why the right sound matters.)
  3. Film on the day. Our crew captures the speakers, the atmosphere, the details and the interviews, working quietly around your event rather than getting in its way.
  4. Edit. We cut the main film and the shorter social edits, add your branding, titles and motion graphics, and share drafts for your feedback. When the deadline demands it, we edit overnight.
  5. Deliver. You get final files formatted for every channel you need, from the press release to the big screen to the social feed.

Because we’re a branding studio as well as a video team, your event film looks and sounds like your brand, not like a generic montage. We can also design the event identity, signage, merchandise and printed kit, so everything on camera is on-brand too.

Event video production: quick questions

What is event video production?

Event video production is the planning, filming and editing of video for a live event. It includes highlights and wrap-up films, opening or launch films shown on the day, speaker and interview clips, testimonials and short edits for social media.

Can you turn an event video around overnight?

Yes. For launches and announcements, we can film on the day and edit overnight so the film is ready the next morning, as we did for the opening of hVIVO’s hLAB facilities in Canary Wharf.

How long should an event highlights video be?

For social media, 30 to 60 seconds is usually ideal. A longer highlights film of two to three minutes works well on a website, in a press release or in a follow-up email. We often make both from the same footage.

When should I book an event videographer?

As early as you can. Booking early gives time to plan the shot list, interviews and any films that need to be shown at the event itself. Opening films in particular need to be scripted and produced well before the day.

What types of events do you film?

We film conferences, trade shows, exhibitions, facility openings, brand and product launches, internal staff events, festivals and awards. If it’s worth being at, it’s worth filming.

Can you make films to show at the event, not just after it?

Yes. We produce opening films, launch films and big-screen content for the event itself, like the intro film we made for hVIVO’s brand launch, as well as highlights films afterwards.
